What do Kari, Jared, Tina and Bob all have in common besides a crisis? They are all in need of salvation.

"Salvation?" you ask. Isn't salvation something that gets you into Heaven? Isn't salvation a prayer we pray to receive the
Lord into our lives? And isn't salvation when we admit we've sinned and accept the Savior's payment for our sins?

YES! Salvation is all of these things, but it is also much, much more. Webster's dictionary defines salvation as a saving or
being saved from danger, evil, difficulty or destruction. In Hebrew (the language of the Old Testament) Yeshuwah
(Yeshooaw) is the word for salvation. Yeshuwah means something saved, deliverance, help, victory, prosperity, health,
welfare. In Greek (the language of the New Testament) Soteria (so-tear-ree-ah) is the word for salvation. Soteria means to
    rescue, deliver, safety, health.

From these definitions alone we see salvation is much more than eternal life in Heaven. Salvation is something to keep us
healthy, safe, victorious, prosperous and delivered from all that is evil while we are on our way to heaven.

Salvation is for the here and now just as much as it is for your eternal resting place.

Think of it this way. In Heaven there won't be any thing to be delivered from. There won't be any evil in Heaven. Poverty
and sickness won't exist in Heaven so you won't need salvation from these in Heaven but you do need it now for the
remainder of your days on earth.

In order to receive the full benefits of your salvation you must begin to appropriate all of the benefits of salvation. The
benefits that you forget will be the benefits that you will never receive (Psalms 103:2)

It is important for you to understand that when you receive Jesus as your Savior and invite Him to come into your life
certain benefits become yours. However, before benefits can actually 'benefit' you, first you have to claim them and before
you can claim them you must know what they are.

Below I've listed twenty benefits of salvation along with scripture references. Look up the scriptures and allow these
benefits to be implanted on your heart.

  1. Deliverance from destruction (Hebrews 11:7).
  2. Saved from your enemies and all that hate you (Luke 1:71).
  3. Saved from your sins (Romans 10:1-10).
  4. Deliverance from bondage and slavery (Exodus 14:1-31).
  5. Health, preservation of life (Acts 27:13-38).
  6. Salvation from physical infirmity (Acts 3:1-12; 4:12).
  7. Promises of salvation (Luke 1:69; Romans 1:16; 2 Corinthians 6:2; Ephesians 1:13; 2 Timothy 3:15; Hebrews 6:9).
  8. Complete deliverance from the curse of the law (Galatians 3:13; Hebrews 2:3; 1 Peter 1:5; 1 Peter 1:9-10).
  9. Mercy from God (Titus 3:4-5; Ephesians 2:4-9).
  10. Justification by faith (Galatians 3:11-12).
  11. Peace with God (Romans 5:1-11; Ephesians 2:14-18).
  12. Holiness and righteousness (Titus 2:11-13).
  13. Reconciliation to God (2 Corinthians 5:14-21; Colossians 1:20).
  14. Light and guidance (1 John 1:7; John 16:7-13).
  15. Victory over your enemies (1 Samuel chapter 14).
  16. Freedom from prison (Philippians 1:19).
  17. Deliverance from captivity (Psalms 14).
  18. Deliverance from wrath (1 Thessalonians 5:9).
  19. Deliverance from danger (Exodus Chapter 14).
  20. Redemption (Romans 1:16).

If you truly study the twenty benefits of salvation you will agree with me when I say salvation is just too good to be true!
But it is true and you can have salvation and the entire benefit package by simply believing with your heart and confessing
with your mouth that Jesus is the Son of the living God and he died and rose again (Romans 10:9-10).

Now a formal mental acceptance will not save you and make you entitled to the salvation benefit plan. You must have a
genuine heartfelt transaction of true repentance and faith (1 John 1:9).

You see salvation doesn't come by a confession of a historical fact that a man named Jesus lived and died on a cross.
Salvation comes by the kind of faith that surrenders your entire being to God with true repentance.

A good Biblical example is that of the Philippian jailer (Acts 16:16-40). Here Paul and Silas were imprisoned for casting a
demon out of a young girl. At midnight in the prison Paul and Silas began to sing praises unto God. As they sang a great
earthquake began to shake the foundations of the prison. All of the doors shook open and every prisoner's chains were
    loosed.

The jailer awoke and found all of the prison doors opened and believing all of the prisoners had escaped the jailer sought to
kill himself. Paul however stopped the jailer from killing himself by telling him all of the prisoners were still there. The
jailer then trembled before Paul asking what he must do to be saved. Paul told him to simply believe on the Lord Jesus
Christ and he would be saved. Paul then said if the jailer's family would also believe, they too could be saved.

Here the jailer is our example of a man who saw a mighty act of God and believed. The jailer knew he wasn't saved because
he asked how he could be saved.

The same is true for you. If you believe with all of your heart Jesus is God's Son. He died on a cross as payment for your
sins and confess this with your mouth you will be saved. The salvation benefit plan then belongs to you! I told you this is
    too good to be true!

Now maybe at some time in your life you prayed a prayer but now find yourself doubting your salvation. The scriptures
are written not only to bring you to salvation but to also give you confidence in your salvation (1 John 5:13). In fact there
are twenty-one ways to determine whether you truly have salvation and can claim the salvation benefit plan. I've listed
    them below for your convenience.

  1.   Personal Fellowship with God, (1 John 1:3-7).
  2.   Fullness of Joy (1 John 1:4).
  3.   Keeping His Commandments (1 John 2:3; 3:22).
  4.   Walking as Jesus Walked (1 John 2:6).
  5.   Love of the Brethren (1 John 2:9-11; 3:10-19; 4:7-21; 5:1).
  6.   Overcoming the World and Satan (1 John 2:13-14; 5:4; 5:18).
  7.   Hatred of the World (1 John 2:15-17).
  8.   Being one with Christians (1 John 2:19).
  9.   Holy Spirit's Anointing (1 John 2:20-27).
  10.   Acknowledging God and Christ (1 John 2:22-25).
  11.   Knowing the Truth that Sets Free (1 John 2:21; John 8:32-36).
  12.   Doing Righteousness (1 John 2:29; 3:7-10; 5:1-4).
  13.   Purifying Ourselves (1 John 3:3).
  14.   Being Born Again (1 John 2:29; 3:9).
  15.   Being Cleansed From Sin (1 John 1:7-9; 3:5-10).
  16.   Freedom From Condemnation (1 John 3:20-24).
  17.   The Indwelling Spirit (1 John 3:24; 4:4; 4:13).
  18.   By Having Faith in God (1 John 2:23; 5:1; 5:10).
  19.   Confessing Christ (1 John 4:14-15).
  20.   By the Inward Witness (1 John 5:10-13).
  21.   By Answered Prayer (1 John 3:21-22; 5:14-15).

These twenty-one signs should offer you a measure of assurance that you do indeed have eternal life (1 John 5:3), or that
you are still in need of salvation (Romans 10:8-11).

The Bible leaves us with no doubts as to who can be saved. It is God's will that every man, woman, and child receive the
salvation purchased for them by the death of His Son (Jesus) on the cross (John 3:16; 1 Timothy 2:4; 2 Peter 3:9).

In fact every one who will meet God's terms shall be saved. God will not refuse anyone who repents and turns from their
    sins to serve Him (John 3:16-21; Romans 1:16; 10:9-11; Ephesians 2:8-9; 1 John 1:9).

"Kari, Kari where are you?" a voice yelled.

"Down here, I'm down here in the well" Kari's voice echoed through the hollow well to her father outside.

"I see you, we'll have you out in no time I'm going for a rope." Kari's father said as he peered down at his daughter at the
    bottom of the well.

Kari was overjoyed her salvation had come. Her father had found her even though she had been playing where she was
    forbidden to go.

You too can be saved for the Father in heaven knows exactly where you are. It does not matter how far you have fallen. It
does not matter that you've gone into forbidden territory, He has a rope that will reach you precisely where you are today.
The rope is Jesus, will you accept Him as your Savior to pull you out of the pit you've fallen in?

"Beep, Beep" the monitor sang out "Beep Beep" the flat-line was gone and a heart rate was registering at last.

Jared's wife looked up at the monitor's new sound. Her prayers had been answered. Her husband was alive again.

If you've been simply maintaining an existence kept alive by the vital machines within your body. You are in the same
condition Jared was, alive but not living. Jesus can change all of that for you by giving you a heart transplant
(Ezekiel 36:26). This new heart will enable you to have life and that more abundantly (John 10:10).

Refuse to live spiritually unconscious any longer by opening up your heart to Jesus.

"Stop, police!" a voice shouted nearby startling the gunman. Tina took a deep breath help was here she was going to be
spared the violence that was planned against her.

You too can be spared the violent acts the devil has planned to destroy you (John 10:10). You no longer have to lay
paralyzed in the enemy's grip. A choice will end the assaults that have formed against you. Make that choice today by
    allowing Jesus to rescue you.

"Bob, I prepared a bonus check for you," Bob's boss said while holding out an envelope to Bob.
"A bonus?" Bob questioned not quite believing his ears.

"Yes, a bonus. It is only fitting that you should receive a bonus for all of your hard work over the years. I've truly
    appreciated your faithfulness."

A reward awaits you in Heaven for your faithfulness to the Kingdom of God. Even when others are falling by the way side
God notices and rewards those who diligently seek Him and serve Him (Hebrews 11:6; Revelation 22:12). Nothing you do
for the Kingdom of God will ever be in vain.

Releasing the rivers In You
John 7:38
Suddenly, the earth gave way beneath Kari's feet. Gravity pulled the frightened ten year old
down. She was falling, speeding past the abandoned well's entrance into the darkness below.

Finally cool water enveloped her and braced her fall. Kari floated for a moment then wisely put
her feet down. Relief flooded her, she could touch the bottom. The water was only waist deep.
A small shaft of soft sky blue light shone above her. It calmed Kari to be able to see, yet the light also showed her that
there was no way out unless someone found her. Kari began to cry no one would look for her here for she had been
playing where her parents had forbid her to go. She was alone, trapped at the bottom of the well.
The numerous monitors beeped a long high pitch note declaring Jared's non-existent vital signs.
Tubes and wires were attached everywhere to his lifeless body. Machines were keeping Jared
alive.

A drunk driver had broadsided Jared on his way home from work three long months ago. He
had never regained consciousness yet his young wife remained dutifully at his side. Her eyes
searched daily for signs of improvement, yet none were found.
The gun was pointed directly at Tina's face only inches from her nose. The cold dark eyes of
the gunman sent shivers down her spine. His eyes held no compassion or signs of weakness.

"Undress," he barked.

"No, please don't do this," Tina begged.
"Do it" the gunman shouted shoving the gun closer to Tina's face.

Fear gripped Tina paralyzing her. She could no longer speak, and her arms refused to obey the orders her brain was
sending them.

Tired of waiting the gunman began to rip away at Tina's clothing. As he threw her to the ground, Tina knew he would
rape her and probably kill her. At just eighteen her life was coming to a brutal end.
As Bob entered the office belonging to his employer fear rose inside of him. He knew the
company was in trouble. Several cuts had already been made. In fact each employee that had
been fired in the past few months had first been called in to see the boss just like Bob was
being called in now.

After nineteen years of dedicated service he thought his job was secure. He had loans to pay
off, and children in college to support. How would he ever make it?
He was far too old to start over at a new job. Bob was about to lose all that he had worked for over the years.
